Welcome to Thread Art Products! Here you will find some of the best tools to help your needle arts grow and thrive. Your art is beautiful, and your tools should be, too!
As a long-time crafter, I’ve tried knitting, crocheting, polymer miniatures, and even some digital design. When I found embroidery and began working with needle arts and lace, I discovered a true passion. With a single thread, beautiful things can come into being.
Embroidery has a limitless palette – you can embroider everything from plants and flowers to heffalumps and woozles! Sarcasm, snark, poetry, inspiration – all of these are perfect for a truly one-of-a-kind gift. It was this range of possibility that excited me about embroidery.
I love that needle arts are an ancient and still thriving way for people to relax and create something new. I love taking a few moments during my day, and watching the stitches on the fabric grow into something beautiful. I hope you will too!
Why do needle artists need help?
It can be daunting to enter the world of needle arts and crafting. What do you need? What don’t you need? What really helps, and what is just an “extra”? These questions are why it’s helpful to have someone bring everything together for you to see in one space.
Another really important piece to creating is knowing the stories behind craft styles. I’m incredibly nerdily interested in the history and stories of needle arts, from the Oya language, to the Chancay darning of Peru. Do you know where your embroidery comes from? So many amazing stories to learn, and each story ties you to the art. I’m here to tell the stories, learn the languages and techniques, and hopefully document the amazing evolutions of art as new ideas change them.
Who the heck is “The Ant Lady”?
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, a small group on social media began to coalesce called “a group where we pretend to be ants in an ant colony.” It is now 2 million members, and supports humans in anty ways across religious, political, and geographical lines. United under the common themes of “WORK”, “LIFT”, “DIG”, and “BITE”, people from all over the world have found friendships and support during isolation and depression. The Ant Lady is a name a friend of mine generously gave me after an addiction with designing and embroidery turned into a strange translation of my love for humanity and their support for others during hard times. Show your support for your colony with Ant Lady merchandise and designs. The proceeds help to keep this site running, and to fuel my addictions in learning.
